I had lunch with my friends here. We ordered chicken karaage to share. I got cold noodle today and the noodle is good, egg is flavored and pork is yummy too. It's just the dipping sauce for the cold noodle is a bit too salty. I didn't use much at all.
Maybe I am Biased, but before Kotteri I never had Ramen. I ate here on a whim with my wife and daughter. I got the number 5 Chashumen size and when I slurped that first spoonful of broth.....I went to Heaven. My taste buds rejoiced, danced and sang praise of this glorious new flavor that I have been missing out on. I personally think they put something addictive in it because I have to stop myself from going there multiple times a week . My ladies loved it just as much. My six year old ask us to go there almost weekly, and who am I to say no!
The food is great serving size, especially katsudon. The taste is just okay.
The food's great, the atmosphere is relaxing, and as an added bonus, it's right across the street from Wackford Park. My only complaint is the price, but to be fair to this restaurant, it's a growing problem throughout Sacramento, not just exclusive to here. Maybe if they had a day of the week where one could get a $6 dish, like Tonkatsu Tuesday, or something to that effect that would allow them to stand out more AND stay competitive in an economy where everything costs twice as much as it did a mere 4 years ago.
No wait on a Saturday evening for dinner. I had the black garlic tonkotsu. The broth was so creamy and delicious! A friend of mine said they had takeout from this place and it wasn't good, so maybe it's best to dine in for better quality.
For a soft opening, it was overall a great experience.
My party and I ordered Karage, gyōza and their signature Cheese Ramen.
The gyōza to my surprise was crunchy on the outside edges and soft inside!
The Karage was perfectly fried and juicy but it could use a little more seasoning maybe?
Portion size was not too big and not too small and this is coming from a guy that can eat a lot.
The broth on their cheese Ramen was good but I felt like it could have used a little more cheese and butter to give it a creamier taste. The ramen noodles were firm and held flavor. However, their cha siu was amazing. I loved it so much, I had to order an extra serving of it!
Can't wait for the official opening of their resturant and hopefully all their kinks worked out!
Place is nice and I like their dinning bar. The service was great. The gals were attentive and friendly. I never had to ask for a water refill, snd the water tastes great. The food was fine. The noodles seemed commercial and didn’t feel like the star. I feel like a ramen house should take pride in their noodles and broths, here it doesn’t seem this way. They do not serve alcohol which I feel would really compliment the meal. I think this may be a one time visit. We’ve previously ordered from DoorDash and had a similar experience. Their phones did not seem to work while we were visiting and customers were complaining about it. They had several TVs mounted in the dining area and they were all only working half the time. Overall experience was okay.
3 1/2 stars. Went Wednesday night during soft opening. Small restaurant with outside seating. Nice, clean atmosphere inside. Ok service. Husband really liked the ramen. It's just ok to me but I'm willing to come back when they have full menu. Broth a little on the salty side but they will cut salt upon request. Kids happy with their ramen and ramune to drink. Ramen is $9.95 a bowl and should have more meat on it. Each bowl had 2 small thin slices of pork (chashu), 1 egg, and inconsistent with the fish cake slices.
